1:350 Fireflash Model Kit

6 reviews

The Official Gerry Anderson Store is excited to bring you a range of officially licensed Thunderbird model kits by manufacturer AIP. Here we have Fireflash.

Operated by ‘Air Terrainean’ the Fireflash is a hypersonic airliner powered by six atomic motors that enable the aircraft to stay airborne for up to six months. Its maximum speed is Mach 6, approximately 4,500 mph, and is capable of flying at a height of 250,000 feet. It is equipped with two passenger decks and many luxury features including cocktail lounges located within glazed sections of the wings’ leading edges. Unusually the flight deck is built into the aircraft’s tail fin. Fireflash featured in 6 episodes of Thunderbirds but will probably be best remembered for its appearance in “Trapped In The Sky”, the episode that introduced International Rescue to the world.

    Fireflash model kit

Good model of iconic Thunderbirds related craft. Easy to assemble but tricky decal application.

Do you know those cool items you wanted as a kid watching thunderbirds, well now you can get them i got the see through TB2, the Mole and the firelash kits. What would be good for future models would be firefly, the 6 wheel explosives truck from joe 90 and the martian explorer vehicle from the new captain Scarlet cartoon show. Balls in your court Anderson. These are great.

    Worth the purchase

It looks to be a recast of the old aoshima model but over half the price if you’d be able to find one in the first place. I will say that this isn’t a beginner kit as there are some fitment issues and in order to get the most of it requires a small amount of filling and sanding. If you have the patience and take your time then you’ll end up with a fantastic model you can display either in flight, on the ground or during the elevator car landing. The elevator cars also include a set of blown out wheels for that dramatic effect.
