Book Details

Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons made its television debut in 1967, presenting a dark and sinister science-fiction drama that has captivated audiences ever since. The scenario depicted a world at the mercy of ruthless attacks from vengeful Martian computers with the power to raise the dead. The puppetry techniques behind the series were similarly unprecedented, elevating Gerry Anderson's 'Supermarionation' to new heights of sophistication.

Here is the definitive story of a television classic, told by the people who made the series and illustrated with a wealth of previously unpublished images, including new shots of the original puppets, studio models and vintage merchandise (see photos).

A must have for Captain Scarlet fans

A really beautiful book full of wonderful illustrations many that I personally haven't seen before. This is the story of Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons the tv show that gave me so much pleasure 'back in the day' and still does. I highly recommend this book. Enjoy.

A must for any Captain Scarlet fan!!

This is a wonderful definitive guide to Captain Scarlet. Loved the detail that went into this book including not just the puppets, voices, sets, and episode guide, but the more obscure points--who knew there was a specific font--the backstories and how it all came together. It really is a fun read.

    A great book!

This was a birthday gift for me from my son, and it pretty much made my day! It is a truly magnificent publication, and for a little Aussie kid who grew up in the 60's, loved everything Anderson, but was sorely deprived of most (TV21 mag kept me going, and even that could be hard to get!) I couldn't have gotten a much better present for my 63rd! Thanks again, outstanding work!
